The owner of the store Sunny Ajani and local authorities are asking for your help to bring this teen thief to justice. It’s our mission at AlertID to provide you with up-to-date crime information and prevention methods. Please see our 5 tips below that can help you prevent a potential home invasion:

  • Always keep points of entry to your home or business locked
    • Everyone should consider updating their old locks with quality keyed knobs and dead-bolt locks – even the best locks cannot protect you if you don’t use them
  • Make sure all points of entry to your home or business are well lit
    • Indoor and outdoor lighting gives the impression that your home is occupied and eliminates outdoor hiding places. Also, consider installing motion-sensing lights, which turn on automatically as someone approaches your home.
  • Hire a trusted company to install a home or business alarm system
    • Alarm systems control access points to your home and let you know if someone has invaded your space. Check with multiple companies before you purchase an alarm system so you can decide what level of protection best fits your needs and budget.
  • Secure your spare keys
    • Leave your spare key with a trusted neighbor and never hide it on the property. Burglars have more experience looking for keys than you do hiding them.
  • Know your neighbors
    • Neighbors who look out for each other are among the best, and least expensive, defenses against neighborhood crime. Neighborhood watch is among the oldest and most effective crime prevention programs in the country, bringing citizens together with law enforcement to deter crime and make neighborhoods safer.
