National Teens Don’t Text and Drive Week

DriveSafe-Mode

Everyone knows that using a phone while driving is unsafe and leads to an increased risk of an accident. Parents are especially concerned about their teen kids texting while driving, as they rightfully should be! In honor of National Teens Don’t Text and Drive Week (Nov. 18-24), we wanted to draw attention to this very important topic and provide a solution for parents worried about their kids’ driving habits while on the road.

DriveSafe Mode is an app created to prevent people from using a cell phone while driving. DriveSafe Mode locks the selected phone to prevent incoming calls, texts, emails, and other distractions while driving. It even begins working within a few seconds of the vehicle’s initial movement (Apple and Android systems work differently- see website for details). Apple also monitors the use of the phone while in a vehicle. If the driver attempts to use their phone while moving, an email will be sent to the driver’s parents to notify them. DriveSafe Mode will also will notify parents if the driver is speeding on both Android and Apple devices.

The app is very user-friendly, and can be configured to allow calls to parents and emergency numbers. On top of all of these great features, more features are being developed and will be added soon, such as the ability to allow GPS and music apps to continue running even when the phone is locked. The DriveSafe Mode app will even be able to collect mileage to provide to insurance companies– possibly lowering insurance premiums! DriveSafe Mode is a very handy tool for parents to make sure that their kids are being as safe as possible on the road. www.DriveSafeMode.com.
